What to Expect from a Group Tour
Every group tour is led by a knowledgeable guide who brings the history of the house, the Van Cortlandt family, and the surrounding community to life. Tours are customized to fit the interests and needs of your group.
By booking in advance, your group receives:
- Dedicated guidance and interpretation tailored to your audience
- Reserved time in the museum, avoiding crowding and ensuring your group has space to explore comfortably
- Group size: all groups of 10 visitors or more must book your trip in advance, whether you would like a guided or self-guided tour. Walk-in groups of 10 or more may not be accommodated without advance booking due to space limitations inside the historic house.
- Cost: a guided group tour is $10/person. A self-guided group tour is $5 per adult and $3 per senior/student. Please note that free admission for Bronx residents and free Thursdays do not apply to group tours, whether guided or self-guided.
- Accessibility: at this time, the historic house museum is accessed using stairs, with stairs to each floor. The museum's Welcome Center is accessible with a ramp, and a 360-degree guided tour is available on a tablet in the Welcome Center.
