GROUP TOUR FAQs

How long will our tour last?
Please allow a minimum of 1 hour for your visit to Van Cortlandt House.  We recommend that you also add time for your group to have an opportunity to visit the Welcome Center and Museum Shop and to use our restrooms.

Does Van Cortlandt House Museum have a café?
Van Cortlandt House Museum does not have a café.  We are happy to make arrangements for a boxed lunch for your group or recommend one of the several wonderful  restaurants in the neighborhood.  We do sell hot and cold beverages and snacks such as potato chips and candy bars in the Welcome Center Shop.

Is there bus parking at the Museum?
Due to Parks Department regulations, buses are not permitted to drive into Van Cortlandt Park.  Your group will be dropped off at the top of the pedestrian walkway leading to Van Cortlandt House Museum at Broadway and West 246th Street.  The walk to the museum follows the original carriage road leading to Van Cortlandt House. It takes about 2 - 3 minutes to walk to the house from this spot on Broadway.
